On a Mac with GarageBand 10 preinstalled you cannot buy the older GarageBand '11 from the AppStore. Your only option would be to buy an iLife '11 DVD from Amazon and use that the install GarageBand '11, and then update that version to GarageBAnd '11 from the apple Support Downloads page.

There is no safe way to download Garage Band onto a Mac without using the App Store. If it didn’t come from the App Store, then it didn’t come directly from Apple and who knows what other “goodies” might be included with the software.
Oct 30, 2013 Download Garageband I feel the same way as you. The new version is missing the bottom that will display the sheet music and gives the ability to move single notes. Without this, I find it to be a huge step backwards. In the purchase section of the Mac App Store is the old version.
